PG-13, on account of death
SPOILERS: If you don't like semi-depressing
ficcie, screw you and don't read this.
DISCLAIMER: If you believe I own
these characters, you are slow. I don't own any characters. The character of Riley
is owned by Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy, and anyone else lucky enough to own a part
of Buffy. He has been altered a slight bit, however. All the other characters are
my friends on AOL, and if you take them, I am sure they will be very displeased,
so you must not do so. And if you take MY character... I will have to personally
hurt you. And, of course, this ficcie may start happy-like, but believe me it's depressing.
You have a problem with that, don't read it. No skin off my back. Other than that,
sit back and enjoy!
AUTHOR'S NOTES: You steal my ficcie, I will hunt
you down so fast... Oh. And if you have and constructive critisism, I will love you
forever and ever. If, however, you send me an e-mail somewhere along the lines of
UR FIC SUX!!! IT WAS SOOOO STUPID!!! UR A HORRBLE RIGHTER!!!! I will be
pissed. And, rest assured, I WILL e-mail you back. And I probably will not be very
nice about it.
The friends had been arguing for hours. "We have to wait until we have
everybody," Lisa was saying, "and then go in with force!"
"I
agree," Maggie and Rachel said at the same time.
"Do you have a
death wish?!" Ais practically yelled at them, "we have to do it quiet like."
"You're
about as quiet as Han Solo," Rachel growled
"Whatever we do, we
have to do it quick!" Paige cut in.
"Agreed," Dani said, "the
more time we spend here arguing, the more time we waste. We could be saving them
even now!"
"Just a question," Stacy said, "how could we
be subtle? I mean, we don't look like the aliens, we have no disguises... I think
force sounds like the more speedy option, and we have to act as soon as possible."
Suddenly
the door burst open, Elisabeth and K stumbled in. Fiona jumped up, "are you
guys okay?!"
K nodded, "we're okay... but Quiller... the aliens...
we tried... couldn't help..." she was crying and the others couldn't understand
what she was trying to say.
"K, slow down," Josh said, "what
happened?" But K couldn't stop crying long enough to answer.
"The
aliens," Elisabeth answered for her, "they took Quiller. And we couldn't
stop it."
Everyone sat in stunned silence.
"Quiller... gone?" Ais said.
"He got another one of us...
she's probably with the others in the mothership..." Maggie trailed off.
Stacy
quietly explained to K and Elisabeth what had been going on.
Ais, who had
been so against using force before, stood up suddenly, "alright," she said,
"alright! Force. Get our phasers ready and attack. I'm sick of losing people!"
Everyone
nodded in agreement. "Let's wait for everyone else to get here, though,"
Josh said. No sooner had the words left his lips than the door opened. Mel, Elisa
and Becca came rushing in.
"Where's Jason and Natalie?" Lisa demanded.
Becca's
lip trembled, "G-gone!"
"The aliens?" Dani asked quietly.
Elisa
nodded, "We barely got away... there was nothing we could do for them."
Heather
stood angrily and began to pace. "They got Quiller, too," she informed
them.
"How'd they do it?" Paige wondered, "how'd they know
where to find us and how to break us?"
"Amanda," Rachel said
hotly, "the traitorous wench went to them, I bet you anything."
Adele
nodded, "I agree. It would be just like Amanda to do that."
"Amanda
left us, true," Jordy said, "but do you really think she'd betray us to
the aliens?"
"Yes," Fiona cut in.
"Amanda wants
power," Sarah said, "and she believes the aliens can- and will- give it
to her."
"I agree," K said, "and I think we should make
her pay for it."
"Time, K," Elisabeth said, "lets save
the others. Then we can worry about Amanda.
Everyone else agreed, and so they
started working on a plan.
In the end, they all agreed. They would go in, two phasers on the ready, but
not fighting unless absolutely neccessary.
The friends started off, phasers
strapped in holsters, jet packs and swords on their backs. They moved in silence,
watching the skies for alien ships. Finally, the mothership came into view. "Go,"
Josh said in a voice just loud enough to be heard by everyone. They all ignited their
jet packs, which were designed to be all but silent. The landed as softly as possible,
stripping off the jet packs, leaving easy access to their swords. Elisabeth
pulled
out a drill and put a hole in the mothership, which they all, one by one, dropped
down in.
"Stay together," Heather whispered, "if we split up
they'll pick us off."
"Agreed," Stacy whispered back. They
moved silently throughout the halls of the ship, moving towards where they believed
their friends to be.
"Here," Becca said, "I think this is the
door," she opened it. The room revealed was.... the bridge! Queen Riley, having
heard the door open, turned. "Oops..." Becca said.
"RUN!"
Elisa yelled.
"After them!" Queen Riley bellowed.
"We
have to split up!" Fiona shouted to her friends. They did, splitting into five
different groups.
Lisa, Becca, Adele and K found themselves in a small room,
where they seemed safe enough. "I have to go back," Lisa said, "I
have to help."
"Lisa, no!" K grabbed her.
"I have
to, K!"
Becca put a hand on K's shoulder, "We won't stop you, Lisa,"
she said.
"But we won't go with you, either," Adele finished for
her.
Lisa nodded, "Thank you. But I have to go. G'bye. And good luck!"
"I
hope we didn't make a mistake letting her go," Adele worried.
"She'll
be fine," Becca assured her, "now come on, we've got to figure a way out
of here without being caught."
Lisa had her phaser in her hand, moving silently through the halls, searching
for Queen Riley. Finally, she found him, in a small room with Maggie, Ais and Rachel.
The three of them were huddled against a wall. "Queen Riley!" Lisa shouted,
"leave them be! Come on, fight me!" she turned and ran from the room. Queen
Riley snarled and followed her out of the room. Rachel stood and ran out of the room,
trying to follow them, but she had already lost them.
Lisa ran to yet another
small room and, once inside, turned to face Queen Riley. She hadn't realized how
close behind her the Queen had been, and was very surprised when he knocked her on
her back. She flipped back up, her sword coming off and clattering to the ground.
She spun away from the Queen, phaser still in hand. He reached down and grabbed her
sword, lunging at her. Lisa set her phaser to kill and fired, shooting Queen Riley
just as he stabbed her through the chest.
Rachel ran inside the room just
in time to see Queen Riley fall to the ground. She gave a cry of triumph, which turned
to a cry of distress when she saw Lisa lying on the ground, sword embedded just short
of her heart in her chest. Rachel ran to her, falling to her knees at Lisa's side.
"Lisa? Lisa, talk to me!"
Lisa opened her eyes, "R-Rachel?"
"It's
me, I'm here, Lisa, talk to me!"
"The others.... the others are
okay? And the Queen.... he's dead?"
"Yes. Yes, Lisa, you killed
the Queen. But you aren't dead! I won't let you die!"
"Tiffany....
Grace.... all of them.... tell them.... that I'm sorry...."
"Sorry
for what? And no, I won't tell them, you'll bloody tell them yourself, y'hear!"
Lisa
laughed, "no, Rachel. Tell everyone.... that I loved them...." and then
her eyes closed.
"L-Lisa?" Rachel began to sob, "Oh God....
Oh Lord.... don't let her be dead.... Lisa.... Oh, God!" she began to rock back
and forth, hugging her knees and crying.
Ais and Maggie ran in then, phasers
up, ready to fight. They took in the sight of the room. "Rachel?" Maggie
asked, "what happened?"
"Lisa.... she tried.... she killed....
oh, God!" she sobbed.
"Rachel...." Maggie said, then dropped
next to her, crying. Maggie hugged Rachel while Ais moved and put a sheet over Lisa's
body.
"I can't believe she's gone," Ais whispered before she broke
down and started crying.
The three of them sat around Lisa's body for a long
time, crying over their lost friend.
Meanwhile, Josh, Paige and Fiona were fighting on the bridge. So far they had
been able to hold the aliens off, but they were outnumbered and losing ground. "We
need backup," Fiona said to her friends.
"But we don't know where
anyone else is!" Paige said, swinging her phaser around and shooting an alien
that was getting to close.
Suddenly the friends found themselves in range
of the door. "Lets get out of here while we still can!" Josh said to his
friends. They turned and ran. When they turned a corner they collided with Heather,
Dani, Elisabeth and Mel.
"Josh! Paige! Fiona!" Heather exclaimed,
happy to see them.
Fiona gave them each a quick hug. "I'm so happy to
see you guys."
"Have you found Mari and the others?" Josh asked.
"No,"
Elisabeth answered, "but we found a map of the ship, and that's where we're
headed."
"Come on with us," Dani said, "I'm sure they're
guarded, we could use your help."
And so they took off, winding through
the corridors in a path Mel assured them led to the holding center.
*****
Maggie
and Ais came quietly out of the room, Rachel close behind, carrying Lisa. While walking
along the corridor they saw Becca, K and Adele.
Lisa was wrapped in a sheet,
so they did not recognize her. "What's that?" Adele wondered.
Rachel
ignored the question. "The Queen is dead," she said simply.
"In
there," Ais pointed vaguely to the room they had just exited.
"You
killed him?" Becca asked.
"No," Maggie shook her head, "Lisa.
Lisa killed him."
"That's great!" K exclaimed.
"Yeah....
great...." Rachel replied.
"He.... he killed Lisa...." Ais
filled them in.
Becca paled, "Lisa.... she's dead?"
"Yeah,"
Maggie answered her.
"Oh.... no...." K turned to Becca and Adele,
"I told you! I told both of you we shouldn't let her go by herself! But you
did.... we did.... and now she's gone!"
"I'm sorry," Becca
whispered, "I'm so sorry...."
Ais shook her head, "We don't
blame you. Not any of you. Lisa did what she wanted, you couldn't have stopped her."
"But
we could have gone with her," Adele said.
Rachel looked up suddenly.
"Somebody take Lisa," she said. "Take her back to the pillow fort.
I want to stay here."
"Don't do anything stupid, Rachel," K
warned her.
"I won't. I promise."
"I'll take her,"
Becca siad, "I'll get her back to the pillow fort. Maybe...." she hesitated.
"Well, maybe when Mari is back she can do something for her. Mari has always
been good with the witchcraft thing."
Rachel nodded and handed Lisa to
Becca. She then turned and started the opposite way down the corridor, her phaser
in hand.
