SPOILERS: someone's a slayer, someone dies

Stacy and Mari ran into the bathroom.

"Quiller? Sarah?" Mari called.

Quiller's backpack was lying on the floor.

"No!" Stacy cried.

Mari opened the bathroom stall. There was blood on the ground.

"Sarah!!!" Mari screamed in fear.

An hour later Stacy and Mari rounded up everyone else who was left. Dani, Grace, Tiffany, Adele, Elisabeth and Josh were there.

"You sure you're up for going Josh, Elisabeth?" Dani asked.

Elisabeth recently had an accident and injured her leg. She had a cast and was wheelchair bound. Josh seemed okay from the vampire bit.

"I don't really care. I just want to find our friends." Elisabeth told.

Josh stopped in front of the woods.

"Okay, we're about to enter." He sighed.

"Ready?" Grace asked.

"Ready." Tiffany nodded, withdrawing a candle, ready for a spell.

The eight of them searched for hours. It was late in the night when they returned to Grace's house.

"Did you find anything?" Adele asked.

She was staying over at Grace's.

"Nothing. We found nothing." Mari replied, sitting down on the couch.

"We can't look until tomorrow." Stacy told.

"I just hope they're okay." Dani nodded.

The morning soon arrived. Everyone sat in the living room with books and computers on, doing research.

"Alrinach's origin traces as far back to the Khan Dynasty. He was Genghis' advisor who took a part in the destruction of the Chinese, killing a soon to be Chinese slayer." Tiffany read from a book.

"It says he contributed to the Holocaust which killed a Polish girl destined to be the slayer." Josh added.

"Why is he taking us though?" Stacy asked.

"Because one of us is the next slayer." Grace replied.

"Heather, K, Ais, and everyone else has potential to be the slayer." Elisabeth pointed out.

"Do you think, they're, they're de-" Adele started.

"Don't even finish that sentence. They're alive." Josh assured.

"How can you be sure?" Tiffany asked.

"In order to be sure of the destruction of the true slayer, Alrinach must kill the suspected candidates. He must gather up all that he infers." Tiffany read.

"What does that mean?" Dani wondered.

"To find out the identity of the next slayer, Alrinach performs a spell that tells him who the next slayer will be. But it shows a group of people, in our case, it's us. He cannot truly figure out who the slayer is until he gets us all. If he kills one, the spell is broken and cannot be performed again." She explained.

"So he needs all of us, to find the real slayer." Dani repeated.

"We need to be safe them. He can't gather more of us." Elisabeth said.

Tiffany closed the book.

"Is there any other info useful?" Adele asked.

"Just some stuff about how Alrinach tried to do a new spell to find the slayer. It's boring stuff." Tiffany said.

Suddenly through the window, an object came smashing through.

"Nice way of sending a message! My mom is gonna kill me for that!" Grace shouted, jumping to the window.

She looked out and saw Maggie standing there.

"Maggie?!" Grace yelled.

Everyone jumped to their feet. Maggie gave a cold stare to Grace. Her eyes flashed a scarlet red.

"Maggie." Grace repeated.

Maggie backed away into the shadows.

"Was that her?" Josh asked, looking outside.

"Where did she go?" Stacy wondered.

"Her eyes were red." Grace told.

"Like this skull." Mari told, picking up the object.

It was a skull with glowing scarlet eyes. Mari gave it to Grace.

"You're the witch. Figure what it does." She told.

"Maggie, she's..." Dani started to stutter, "She's evil?"

"I don't know," Grace replied, shaking her head, "I don't know."
