AUTHOR'S NOTES: I'm brilliant, so read it and be amazed!
Aisling began running towards the burning building, but she was stopped almost
Immediately by the dark haired boy who had been dancing with the Slayer.
"Let
me go." She said threw gritted teeth giving him her colded stare, trying to
make her green eyes into icy daggers. But he just held on, and Ais noticed that the
Slayer was running to the burning building, and she would most certainly know Fiona
was a vampire, and stake her. And there was no way Ais was going to let that happen.
The Dark haired boy holding was holding her elbow, so she brought her other arm up
and slammed her palm onto the underside of his chin, knocking backwards and onto
the ground.
"I told you once, and I hate repeating myself, remember that."
Aisling said and began after the Slayer into the blazing warehouse.
But just
as she was coming to it, an orange cat came running for her.
"Mel!"
Ais cried scooping up the cat, who half sputtered, half purred. "You all right?"
She asked the ash covered shapeshifter. Mel meowed and nodded. Ais put her back down
and rushed full force into the inferno.
Ais had expected it to be hot in
there, but not as hot as this; she almost thought she had already died and was now
where all evil went when they died. But she shook off the feeling quickly and took
a deep breath to yell out to Stacy and Fiona, but instead of a yell coming out, she
went into a coughing fit, the smoke was so thick she could barely make out shapes.
"Fiona, Stacy!" She finally choked out, and when she no reply,
she tried again, louder. "Stacy, Fiona!"
"Help!" Came
Fiona's voice from far on her left, but closer just in front of her she heard Stacy.
"Ais, where are you?"
Ais made a quick decision and went towards
Fiona, who sounded in greater trouble, yelling at Stacy to follow her voice. Ais
had followed Fiona's cries until She came to what had been the back of the building,
where the bathrooms were, there was a wall of flames that went in a small ragged
circle, and right in the center of the fire circle was Fiona, looking around her
with eyes huge and frightened.
"Can you see a way out of the flames?"
Ais yelled, she went then into a coughing fit from the smoke.
"Do you
think I'd still be here right now if there was a way out?" Fiona yelled, then
she screamed as a flaming piece of wood fell from the ceiling almost hitting her.
"All
right then, I'll have to come and get you." Ais said, Stacy had come up behind
her, coughing and choking. "Stacy, stay here, if I can't get Fiona out, go that
way." She said point the way she had come in. "Just get out of here, don't
look back, and tell the others to get back to the mansion, we don't want be around
for too long." That's when Ais leapt into action.
Leapt, being the word.
She had been surveying the burning building as she spoke to Stacy, looking for a
way to get to Fiona, that's when she noticed the pipes in the ceiling, the same ones
that she had noticed earlier that evening, covered with crepe paper.
This
is going to hurt. She thought as she pulled back her legs and sprung forward, she
grabbed the pipes, and had to hold in a scream as the pipe burned into her flesh.
(The flames had turned them almost red hot) But Ais kept her grip, and used the scorching
metal pipes the swing over the high flames and into the flaming ring with Fiona.
Once
in the ring, Ais searched franticly with her eyes for a way out, the pipes were not
an option again, and Fiona had been right; there was no break in the fire ring.
"We
can't go over, under, or between." Ais said to Fiona. "So that just leaves
us one option, we go threw it."
"WHAT!?!" Fiona cried grabbing
Aisling and shaking her. "In case you have forgotten Aisling dear, I'm a vampire,
I am Highly Flammable!!!"
Aisling just shot her a devil-may-care smile.
"So you always said you were hot, now it's time to prove it." Ais said,
Fiona was opening her mouth to answer when a scream from the other side of the flame
ring reached their ears.
"Let me go!" It was Stacy, Aisling's eyes
flew to where she had left the werewolf standing, and she was still there, but with
a figure, covered all in black behind her like a shadow taken form, holding Stacy's
arms with one hand, and a gleaming knife at Stacy's throat in the other.
Silver.
Ais thought as the knife flashed with light from the fire. She narrowed her eyes
at the figure it was the Slayer, she was sure of it, but she couldn't make anything
out, all she could see was Stacy's eyes pleading with her.
"Help me."
She whispered. The sound didn't carry over the roaring of the flames, but Aisling
could read her lips, and the fear in her.
"Come on." Ais said grabbing
Fiona and running for the wall of flames in front of them. Fiona screamed as they
broke threw the wall, Ais felt heat all around her for a moment , and a horrible
burning on her right arm. She also noted that Fiona's screaming wasn't stoping. It
took Aisling a moment to process what was happening, the sleeve on Aisling's right
arm was on fire, she beat it out quickly, and Fiona was still screaming, she was
on fire, her back and leg's covered in flames, she looked almost cartoonish rolling
on the floor.
Ais could only save one; Fiona or Stacy.
Aisling was
leaping to her feet, not knowing who she was going to save when another figure leapt
forward, and a spray of white froth was being showered upon Fiona. Aisling looked
quickly at the person holding the fire extingisure; it was the Slayer. Ais quickly
looked at the figure holding Stacy and back to the blonde girl hosing off Fiona.
"Ais
Help!" Stacy cried, and Ais leapt forward, but before she got there, it happened.
The
figure drew the knife away from Stacy's throat, it shocked Aisling enough that she
hesitated, and that was her mistake. Because The figure then took the knife and shoved
it into Stacy's chest, right into her heart; as if she were killing a vampire.
"Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!" Aisling screamed stopping dead. The figure
Removed the knife and let Stacy go, she took two steps, till she was right in front
of Ais, she put her hand on the gushing wound in her chest, shock and disbelief in
her eyes as she lifted her blood covered hand to her face and stared at it.
"Ais..."
She said, in a whisper, contorted as the blood came out of her mouth and down her
chin. She only cried one tear before her eys rolled up into her head and she fell
forward into Aisling's arms; she was dead.
"Oh god!" Came a cry
from behind her. It was the Slayer, she had thrown the fire extingisure aside.
"I'm
going to kill you." Came Fiona's voice, she was standing up shakily.
The
figure's head moved so that it was not looking at Stacy's limp body, but at the vampire
glaring with anger and hatred. The figure pushed a small release and the silver blade
fell off, revealing a wooden knife underneath.
A steak knife. Aisling
thought finding no humor at the pun.
Ais was lowering Stacy's body to the
ground as she watched the Slayer leap forward and kick out at the figure, who dodged
with ease. They continued, it was like a ballet for the devil, with the flames leaping
as the two frought, it was almost beautiful.
The figure was knocked backwards
by the Slayer, who turned and came to Ais and Fiona, she tried to grab onto the body
that had once ben Stacy.
"Come on, let's get you out of here and your
friend some help." SHe said, but Ais grabbed her wrist. and looked her straight
in the eyes.
"She's dead, leave her." Aisling said, the Slayer looked
resistent for a minute, then seemed to sense the warrior spirt in that they both
shared and nodded.
"Ok, let's go." She said, and the three of them
began running for the door, Aisling wanted to fight the figure, but she couldn't
reveal herself in front of the Slayer.
But Ais still threw a glance over her
shoulder just in time to see that the figure had gotten it's self up and had thrown
it's wooden knife.
"Fiona!" She yelled, Fiona moved just enough
so that the knife hit in her back, an inch away from her heart, she screamed in pain,
but Ais and the Slayer each grabbed an arm and kept her moving, threw the fury of
the burning building and finally, out into the cold, clean air of night.
"You
two okay?" The Slayer asked, they were burned and bruised, and Fiona had a kinfe
in her back, which Ais was blocking from the Slayer's view.
"Uhh, yes,
thank you." Aisling said, she felt like attacking the Slayer, she was angry
over the death of her teammate, she just wanted to kill something.
"We
need to get you to one of the ambluences." The Slayer said looking at the vechiles
with flashing lights.
"We're okay, I can take care of it from here."
Aisling said trying to keep the anger from entering her voice. "I bet you came
with friends, maybe you should go check on them." She suggested, praying she
would go away.
"You sure?" She asked, Ais and Fiona nodded heavily.
"Okay, but hurry up, those burns look bad."
"Yes, okay, got
it." Ais said nodding, she noticed Josh, Rachel, Adele and the other's making
they're way towards them. And she was glad that the Slayer left just before they
reached them.
"Are you guys okay?" Maggie asked rushing up and hugging
Fiona, her eyes widened when she felt the knife in her back "My god, what happened?
Did the Slayer..." She began, but Josh broke in.
"Where's Stacy?"
Ais looked him straight in the eyes, then she gravely looked at everyone else.
"She'd
dead." There were gasps and cries from the whole group. "But that is not
probablm right now, we have some bigger." She said.
"What is that?"
Quiller asked her eyes narrowing.
Ais reached for Fiona's back and pulled
out the wooden knife, Fiona yelled in pain. But Ais didn't notice, she was staring
intently at the carved wood handle, running her hands across the red wood, then Familier
workmenship.
"We are being hunted..."
