Part Two: Family Woes

"So you guy's all packed?" Aisling said stepping through the bathroom and into Maggie's, Rachel's, Quiller's, and Fiona's dorm room.

"Almost." Quiller said lying on her bare bunk. "Fiona's still taking down her wall of fame though."

Aisling looked up and saw Fiona sitting on the bunk above Quiller's, carefully pulling clippings, and poster's of *N'Sync off of the wall and ceiling around her bed. She also had had drawn pictures of her favorite vampire, William the Bloody, and stories of his exploits.

"Are you really going to take all of that with you to Sunnydale?" Aisling asked.

"Of course!" Fiona said picking up a headshot of Justin Timberlake and touching it gentley. "If I ever get a chance to meet Justin, I'd bite him in a minute."

Quiller and Rachel laughed.

"You always say that!" Rachel said rolling her eyes.

"Well, I will!" Fiona said pouting.

Aisling couldn't help but notice that Maggie wasn't joining in the conversation, which was very unusual. She had been distracted ever since she had talked to Josh. Aisling knew something was wrong, and that she had to talk to her before they left that evening. (They couldn't leave during the day or else Fiona would burst into flames)

"Ok, I'm going to go and check on the others, see if anyone else needs some help." Aisling said stepping bacl into her room, Mel was still trying to fit all of her clothes into her suitcase and was failing, while Stacy sat there laughing. Her and Elisabeth were already finished. So Ais went to check on the others, Josh didn't need any help, all of his stuff was flying across the room and into his suitcase.

Dani had Adele to help her pack since Adele was dead, and had no clothes, only a couple of CD's and a stuffed animel.

Everything seemed to be under control, so Aisling headed back to her room to hang until it was time to go. But as she passed the lounge she noticed that the three girls they had met at the assembly were sitting inside talking quietly. And when Aisling stepped in, they all stopped talking.

"Hello." Lisa said standing up. "How may we help you?"

Aisling just looked at them with an eyebrow raised.

"You have to forgive the Ice Queen there." Tiffany said standing up Next to Lisa, and Ais couldn't help but notice the ferret that rested on her shoulder.

"Yeah, Lisa can be a real stiff." Amanda said still sitting on the couch, Lisa shot her a look so cold Aisling thought she would freeze, but Amanda just smiled warmly back at her.

"So, what's your power?" Aisling asked stepping further into the room.

"Not much for small talk huh?" Lisa asked sitting down.

"Nope, I like to know what kind of demon's I have around me." Aisling said, pulling up a chair from the table behind her and sat across from Lisa.

"Well, I'm not a demon." Amanda said in a casual tone.

"Then what are you?" Aisling asked.

Amanda smiled and looked the curtains on the winows, they were drawn so that no sunlight would come in and Fiona wouldn't fry. Aisling watched at they suddenly caught on fire.

"That's why they call me Amanda Burn." Amanda said beaming.

"Nice." Aisling said turning back to Amanda.

"Unnessaeryly destructive." Lisa said shaking her head, she then lifted her hand, and pointed it at the burning curtains, the curtains then became covered with ice, and the flames were put out.

"That's why we call Lisa Frost here the Ice Queen." Tiffany said laughing. "Me, they call me Tiffany Tavi cause of this cutie here." She said petting the ferret on her shoulder. "Ricky here and I have a physic bond, and he has some special qualaties." She said smiling.

Aisling talked to the three girls until it was time to leave. She cursed silently that she hadn't gotten a chance to talk to Maggie, but she was overjoyed as they stepped outside when she saw that she was given a better option.

"Oh please tell me those are for us!" Rachel cried as she caught sight of line of sports cars parked outside the school.

"Yes Miss French, they are for you." Sire Banks said stepping up behind them, causing them all to jump. Aisling really wished he'd quit doing that.

"There is enough car's so that a pair of students can share one." SIre Banks said stepping to stand infront of them. "Now I suggest you all pair up and and pick a veicile, first come first serve." And as soon as he finished talking, the students bolted.

Aisling searched for Maggie, grabbed her hand and pulled her into a slick black porcshe. Stacy and Mel shared a red mustang, Rachel tryed to get into the covertible with Josh, but he used his power to lift her out. (He was always wary to give her a wide birth because of her She-Mantis heritage) And Dani slide in beside him. Rachel and Elisabeth paired up, so did Quiller and Fiona. Aisling didn't see who went with who after that, she was already peeling out of there and on her way to Sunnydale.

"So Maggie." Aisling asked as she took a turn at high speed and the tire squealed. "Tell me what it is that's wrong."

"I don't want to talk about it." Maggie said turning to look aout the window.

"You had better talk about it!" Ais said taking another turn. "You are distracted, and being distracted can get you killed, and you dying can hurt the team so spill it."

"Fine." Maggie said still looking out the window. "As you know, I'm only half demon."

"Yeah so?" Ais asked, swerving to miss a pot hole.

"Well, I had a lead on a family member of mine, another half demon, a cousin named Allen Francis Doyle, that's why I chose the last name Doyle when I started at this school." Maggie said lowering her head.

"I remember you telling us that." Aisling said nodding.

"Yeah well, what you don't know is that I asked Josh to look for him on the internet, see what kind of mayhem he's been creating, and well, Josh found him. He's dead." Maggie said, and Aisling looked over at her.

"Oh Maggie, I'm so sorry." Ais said shaking her head.

"That's not the problam!" Maggie cried turning to Aisling. "The problam is he wasn't evil!" She yelled and broke down into tears.

"What?" Aisling asked, looking over at Maggie for a moment.

"He wasn't evil!" Maggie said again. "He was working with that vampire with a soul, Angel. He was his sidekick! the Robin to his Batman!" Maggie yelled. "I just can't take it, I'm so ashamed!"

"Don't be." Aisling said reaching over and squeezing Maggie's arm gently. "Just because he wasn't evil doesn't make you anyless evil."

"I know that." Maggie said sighing. "It's just, well. Have you ever wondered if we're doing the right thing Ais?"

Aisling swerved the car onto the side of the road and hit the brakes, she then turned in her seat and grabbed Maggie by the shoulders.

"Don't ever talk like that!" She cried. "Remember what happened to the last person who talked about abandoning the cause?" Aisling watched as the horrible memories crossed MAggie's face. "Do you want Sire Banks to find out and do that to you?" She asked. Maggie shook her head quickly, Aisling let go of her shoulders, and pulled back out onto the street.

"That's good, now let's just forget about any kind of thoughts like that." Aisling said as they drove on. And they kept on driving in silence until they reached a town called Sunnydale.

"You ready for some action?" Aisling asked as they turned onto the street where they would be staying while in Sunnydale.

"Bring it on." Maggie said as they parked the car and stepped out to get their first glance of they're new home...
