AUTHOR'S NOTES: I'm brilliant, so read it and be amazed!
"Don't feel bad Maggie." Fiona was saying as they walked back to
their dorm room after their class. "You only got knocked out of the ring, you
didn't get defeated by an unarmed human, when you had another demon backing you up.
if you thought Sire Banks was disappointed at you, think of how he feels about Quiller
and I."
"Excuse me." Aisling said coming up behind Fiona. "I
resent being called 'an unarmed human'."
"You know what I mean."
Fiona said looking back and shrugging.
"I hardly would call Ais unarmed."
Maggie said laughing. "Especially after she kicked your butt Fiona."
"I
knew there was a reason I liked you Maggie." Aisling said putting laughing with
Maggie, Fiona joined in too.
"I hate to interrupt this little joy fest."
Quiller said rolling her eyes. "But have you guy's even started on your papers
for tomorrow?" She asked, and Aisling, and Maggie groaned.
"I haven't
even chose who I'm going to write about." Maggie said slumping her shoulders.
"I mean, we have to choose who I personally think is the most vicious, powerful,
and deadly vampire, undead or dusted."
"I was thinking about writing
mine on the Master." Aisling said thinking. "His name says it all doesn't
it?"
"Everyone will writing about him Ais." Fiona said smiling.
"You should do like me and write about the one and only vampire who could ever
be known as the greatest."
"Here she goes again." Maggie muttered
rolling her eyes, and Ais and Quiller nodded there heads in agreement.
"William
the Bloody, he's killed two Slayers, and has taken on the current Slayer time and
again. And unlike the Master, he's still alive." Fiona said, she opened her
mouth to keep speaking, but thankfully she was cut off by the muffled sound of yelling
from just down the hall. Aisling didn't have to get all the way down the hall to
know where the shouts were coming from, she knew instinctively it was coming from
her dorm room. And she was proved right as she opened her door.
"I said
let me down!" Stacy Bane yelled as she floated just below the ceiling.
"Be
quiet Stacy, or I'll lose my concentration." Elisabeth Coven warned as she stared
intently at the floating girl.
"Hey ladies, what's up?" Josh Carrie
said standing behind them, trying to see why they were all gathered.
"Stacy,
that's what's up." Maggie said stepping aside and letting him see.
"Whoa."
Josh said nodding. "Keep this up Elisabeth and I'll have competition."
"Thanks
Josh." Elisabeth said. "The only problem is I have to keep really focused
as I do this. If I lose eye contact, then well, Stacy go boom." Even as she
said it, Aisling knew it was the wrong thing to say, because just as Elisabeth finished,
an orange cat jumped on her face, making her lose eye contact, and letting Stacy
falling towards the hardwood floor, screaming.
But she never hit, she just
floated there, her nose just inches from the wood. Aisling looked beside her at Josh,
who had his hand out pointed at Stacy. Aisling could feel the power emanating from
him, even though his outside was one of absolute cool.
"Thank you Josh!"
Stacy exclaimed as he lowered her softly onto the ground, she then turned her attention
to the orange cat that Elisabeth had thrown off her face and onto Aisling's bed across
the room. "You could have killed me Mel!" She yelled.
The cat smoothly
changed shape until it was in the form of a young girl, who was lying on the bed
laughing.
"Don't be so melodramatic Stacy!" Mel Leo said as Stacy
tossed pillows at her. "I knew Josh would catch you."
Mel and Stacy
Bane were two of Aisling's roommates, along with Elisabeth. And They were always
fighting like cats and dogs. (Which was completely natural seeing as Stacy was a
werewolf, and Mel was a shapeshifter who could become the shape of any kind of feline,
be it house cat or predator) But even with all the two of them fight, they were still
best friends.
"Okay, let's break this up." Aisling said stepping
into the room, Maggie came in with, along with Quiller and Fiona. "Let's all
get our stuff together and meet in the lounge to finish our papers so that we don't
get the evil eye from Sire Banks tomorrow." The others all nodded, Fiona and
Quiller walked threw the bathroom which connected Aisling's room to the room they
shared with Maggie, and Rachel French. Maggie was about the follow them when Josh
asked her if he could see her out in the hall for a moment.
Aisling heard
Maggie a few minutes later when she opened the door to her dormroom, and then less
then a half hour later, they were all in the lounge, text books open, notebooks and
pencils ready. (Except for Josh who was using his laptop) They were Joined by Dani
Twin, who was chewing on her pencil, and fiddling with the amulet she wore around
her neck.
Aisling couldn't help but notice that Maggie was being unusually
quiet. She was about to ask her what was wrong, when a shadow fell over the doorway.
"Sire
Banks!" Elisabeth said standing up, and with the others following suit.
"We
are having a special assemble in ten minutes, get the rest of the students and come
promptly to the gym." Sire Banks said briskly. "Any student not present
will be punished swiftly and severely." He added in a businesslike manner and
left, but still Aisling got chills; she knew some of the punishments, and she would
not even wish them on the Slayer.
"Let's go." She said closing her
history on vampires text book, the others did the same.
Ten minutes later
the entire student body were all gathered in the gym, where they had just had combat
class not even an hour ago, Aisling looked around to make sure no one was missing.
There was Josh, Fiona, Dani, Quiller, Elisabeth, Stacy, Mel, Rachel, Maggie,
and...
"Wait a minute, where's Adele?" Aisling asked, turning her
head from side to side.
"Down here." A voice said next to Aisling
ankles, she looked down just as Adele Spectre came floating threw the floor to stand
beside her. "Sorry I was late." She said, and Aisling smiled. She doubted
that any of Sire Banks punishments would hurt Adele, seeing as she was a ghost. But
Sire Banks was famous for finding new ways of torture.
"Nice to see you
are all here." Sire Banks said stepping up behind the group of students. "Promptness
is important in evil, but we are not here today to discuss arrival times. We have
more important matters to attend to." He said, he looked over his shoulder and
three girls stepped inside. Aisling could feel the familiar aura of the demonic coming
from them.
"New classmates Sire Banks?" Rachel said giving them
the once over.
"No Miss French." He said. "This is Amanda,
Tiffany, and Lisa, they are three of our top students who have been... On a field
trip."
"A field trip to where?" Josh asked suspiciously, and
Aisling knew what he was thinking, nothing was as it seems at this school.
"They
have been doing some research in a town we have been studying... A town called Sunnydale,
and I have decided that you students are now all ready to embark on a field trip
there as well, to take your final exam." He said and smiled, and the smile chilled
Aisling straight to the bone.
